  • DOT Driver Compliance - This training covers some important US Department of Transportation (or DOT) rules that all Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) drivers are required to follow. They include the qualifications you must have as a driver, the revised hours of service regulations, how to fill in your log book correctly, requirements for inspections, safety equipment you need to have on board your truck with you, and some Hazardous Materials (or HAZMAT) issues. The purpose of all of these rules is to keep you and everyone else on the road safe. (Please note that this course is only one of the many Driver Safety courses that we offer.)

  • Preventing Strains and Back Injuries Around Heavy Equipment - Many pieces of equipment can be heavy and thus awkward to handle. When you work with heavy equipment you sometimes have to climb the equipment, get it in and out of awkward places, and lift and position heavy parts. These activities can put you at risk for strains and back injury.

  • Hazard Communication - More than 32 million workers work with and are potentially exposed to one or more chemical hazards in more than 3 million American workplaces. With over 650,000 existing chemical products, and new ones are being introduced every day, a serious problem is posed for exposed workers and their employers. Hazard Communication (Hazcom) training is designed to provide workers with the information they need to know in order to understand the hazards and identities of the chemicals they are exposed to when working.

  • Lockout/Tagout - This lesson teaches the purpose and application of the Control of Hazardous Energy requirements, also known as lockout/tagout. It covers practices and procedures that are necessary to disable machinery or equipment and prevent the release of potentially hazardous energy while maintenance and servicing activities are being performed.

  • Distracted Driving - Have you ever seen distracted drivers? What were they doing? Talking on a cell phone? Adjusting the car stereo? Applying makeup? Slowing down to check out a wreck on the side of the road? Maybe they had to brake sharply or make an evasive maneuver to avoid hitting a vehicle in front. Or maybe they were actually involved in a collision. Whatever they were doing, I bet you thought to yourself “that person needs to pay more attention.” And you’d have been right. Distracted driving and distracted drivers are a big problem on our roads today. In fact, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, NHTSA, estimates that driver inattention is a factor in 25-50 percent of highway collisions, or 4,000-8,000 crashes every day. Chances are, though, that in addition to having seen a distracted driver, you’ve actually been a distracted driver, too. In a recent NHTSA survey, 81% of drivers admitted to engaging in potentially distracting behavior while driving.
